Dementia Care Champion Courses

Curative Connections is committed to serving our members and providing them the best experience possible. However, a big part of what we do at Curative is provide respite to the caregiver. We are working on ways to further support our caregivers, like the Caregiver Cove at our east side location. We want to go further and provide resources that help caregivers better understand dementia.

Curative is hosting dementia care champion courses, Tuesday, July 1 & 8 from 12pm- 4pm. These courses are presented by Sheri Fairman, a certified PAC Mentor, and owner of Dementia Care Solutions. These courses are designed to help caregivers understand how brain changes impact everyday life and how to meet the needs of the person living with dementia. The event is free, but spots are limited!

Western Ave Summer Block Party

Last week, Curative Connections joined other organizations and the City of Green Bay Office of Violence Prevention for a Summer Block Party on Western Ave, where Yesteryear Village is located. The goal was to engage with neighbors, create connections, and connect them to resources in the neighborhood.

Even the rain couldn’t put a damper on what a huge success this event was. We know we had plenty of meaningful conversations with our neighbors and let them know that Curative Connections is here to help!

Thank you to the City of Green Bay Office of Violence Prevention for including us and to HJ Martin for hosting the event at their location!

Advocacy Update

There’s still time to call and make your voice heard and let your area legislators know the importance of supporting Family Care funding of $30 million for adult day services! The state budget is not yet complete, and here is where we are in the process.
