As an intern of the state certified adult day programs, you would be part of a team helping others have meaningful days through purposeful activity and social interaction while supporting adult members based on individual needs and preferences. All internship opportunities would allow for education into a variety of physical and cognitive diagnosis, including dementia. The direction of your internship could hold various paths:
- Working alongside our Social Worker and our Adult Day Services Life Enrichment Director. You will learn how to gather intake and social history, complete case management, and provide care coordination to families and programs, while being educated on Curative Connections’ services. You will also learn how to oversee budgeting, staffing, managing, and state and HCBS regulations.
- Learning how a day-to-day adult day program operates by being a part of the hands-on care and activity that occurs daily Monday-Friday. Alongside program staff, you will learn how to create and offer purposeful activity development, offer activities successfully for various ability levels, and evaluate a person’s wellbeing and therefore adapt programming and interactions accordingly.
This internship is unpaid. College credit can be arranged.
