The Life Skills program at Curative Connections fosters a learning environment through cognitive stimulation, physical activity, social interaction, and creative expression. This program is designed to help adults with disabilities build skills for independence in their homes and in the community. Each member is working towards their own goals, with the support of their peers and program staff.
The program works on developing a variety of skills; socialization, coping mechanisms, relationship building, decision-making, nutrition, meal preparation, personal finance, personal hygiene, and more. Daily programming is a mix of hands-on learning, classroom work, and outings–which include volunteer work, skill application, and educational speakers. Program capacity is 12 members, and the number of days in programming depends on member goals and participation in other Curative programs.
