Enjoy talking shop and the easy rhythm of garage life—the smell of sawdust, the clink of tools. Your steady presence helps create a familiar, comfortable environment for individuals living with dementia, offering companionship while gently guiding them toward safe, meaningful activities like simple woodworking tasks, sorting tools, or exploring tactile materials. Conversations about engines, grilling out, fishing stories, old shop projects, or favorite trails help spark connection and keep the space feeling warm and grounded. Your role brings this workshop setting to life, offering participants a sense of purpose and dignity through small, achievable tasks and calm, friendly engagement. By providing gentle redirection when needed and helping maintain a relaxed, garage style atmosphere, you create moments of comfort, confidence, and joy in a space that feels like home.
