We’re looking for friendly volunteers who enjoy a relaxed outdoor setting. This role takes place on our temperature-controlled back porch and in the surrounding courtyard—spaces designed for gentle activity, fresh air, and easy connection. Volunteers help create a calm, inviting atmosphere by greeting participants as they enter these spaces, offering light assistance as they settle into the space, and supporting simple, meaningful activities throughout the day. Many of the tasks in this space are productive and deeply satisfying for our members. Volunteers may assist participants in tending raised garden beds, watering plants, or harvesting herbs and vegetables—activities that offer a sense of ownership and accomplishment. Walking paths provide opportunities for gentle movement and conversation, while bicycles allow for slow, supervised rides that build confidence and independence. The gazebo and shaded porch areas host table games, puzzles, and small projects that encourage focus and social connection. Volunteers might help set up outdoor yard games, support participants as they enjoy the patio swing, or guide simple tasks like refilling birdbaths, adding seed to feeders, and observing the birds that visit throughout the day. These nature‑based activities offer structure, purpose, and a chance to contribute to the care of the courtyard environment.
