October is Manufacturing Month

The month of October is Manufacturing Month. Manufacturers have a large impact on the U.S. economy but are especially important to contributing to everyday life in the Green Bay area. We want to highlight our mission partner and largest donor, ProSolutions, Inc. We are connected through our mission, and as our biggest donor, they play a crucial role in the sustainability and impact Curative Connections has on our community. ProSolutions, Inc. delivers flexible, high-quality contract manufacturing and packaging services tailored to their customers’ needs. They support a wide range of industries like food, hardware, pharmaceuticals, paper, etc. Beyond providing purpose-driven manufacturing and packing solutions and supporting Curative financially, ProSolutions, Inc. is an incredible community partner to our Employment and Training Program. They have provided the program with opportunities for hands on training and temporary work experiences. Their support is crucial in helping our members grow and meet their goals for independence.

Before COVID-19, our Specialized Transportation Services fleet included 80 volunteer drivers and today, we are down to 41. Our services provide approximately 200 rides each weekday to medical appointments, work, grocery shopping, and daily activities throughout Brown County.

Building an Age-Friendly Future

Curative Connections’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee hosted its first book club. The group read the book, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive by Stephanie Land. It is a memoir about the author’s life as a single mother working as a maid to support herself and her daughter. The book details her experiences with poverty, housing insecurity, and an abusive relationship.

After reading the book, the group got together to discuss and share what they learned, favorite quotes, and feelings that were evoked in the reading. It was a great opportunity for everyone to expand their horizons and dive into a good book. Thank you to the DEIB committee for coordinating and hosting!
