Veterans Day Celebration
November 11th is always a special day at Curative Connections. We held a Veterans Day celebration for our members and recognized their service and dedication to our country. A big thank you to our friend and Marine Corps Veteran Lou LeCalsey, who shared remarks and helped us recognize each veteran in attendance by asking them to stand while their name and branch of service was announced. The veterans received cards from Green Bay Area Public Schools elementary students. We ended the celebration with a sing-along to “America the Beautiful” and “My Country ‘Tis of Thee.” Thank you to all those who served and sacrificed. We are so honored to recognize and celebrate you all.
Wispact Foundation & Curative Connections
Through grants, the Wispact Foundation supports organizations that serve people with disabilities throughout Wisconsin. They have partnered with Curative Connections with several impactful grants that have helped us move our mission forward and make a difference in our members’ lives.
In 2022, they provided us with a grant that funded community outings, a crucial part of the Curative experience. In 2023, they helped fund a bus with a side-load lift. Wispact’s support has allowed us to connect with the community and with each other providing a link between all Curative locations and the Green Bay area.
The most recent development in this partnership was a grant that supported American Sign Language (ASL) classes for Curative staff through NWTC. Our staff completed the course earlier this year and found it incredibly useful in communicating with our nonverbal members. Training opportunities like this help us better serve our members and is essential to providing person-centered care. We are beyond grateful for the Wispact Foundations’ support and belief in our mission.
