Wispact Foundation Legacy Grantee 2026
We are thrilled to share that Curative Connections has been awarded a Legacy Grant by the Wispact Foundation. This grant will allow us to continue to create enriching experiences for our members and build on one of the core elements of our programming, physical exercise. This grant will fund our partnership with the YMCA for two group exercise classes hosted weekly at Curative Connections West/Yesteryear Village and Curative Connections East. This class is open to all our programs and is a great way for our members to stay active during the cold winter months. Additionally, the funding provided by the Wispact Foundation covers an annual membership for our life skills members. Life skills members are active in the community and the opportunity to go to the Y to swim and exercise is fantastic. Thank you to the Wispact Foundation for supporting Curative Connections and our members!
In 2025 the Wispact Foundation awarded $1,510,344 in total funding. This includes 175 grants to nonprofit organizations including the launch of a new scholarship initiative that will support 10 organizations through a yearlong capacity-building cohort in 2026. The Wispact Legacy Grants support initiatives that promote the well-being of people with disabilities in areas like mental and physical health, housing, transportation, education, and recreation. Curative Connections is grateful to be recipient of a Wispact Legacy Grant.
Let Me Be Frank Productions Presents “Manawa Rodeo”
Let Me Be Frank Productions is hosting a benefit performance on opening night of “Manawa Rodeo,” on February 5, 2026. $5 for each ticket sold will be donated to Curative Connections.
“Manawa Rodeo” is a musical comedy set in a small town where the annual rodeo is the biggest event of the year. The competition for Manawa Rodeo Queen heats up as confident frontrunner Kasey, reigning queen Sarah, daring barrel racer Lisa, and fiery underdog Amy each bring their own charm — and chaos — to the arena. Overseeing it all is rodeo chairman Boss Hogg, while smooth-talking bull rider Slim Shadey, scene-stealing rodeo clown Disco Dalton, and mysterious snake oil salesman Snidely Quackmen stir up trouble, laughs, and unexpected twists. Packed with country hits, bold personalities, and classic Let Me Be Frank humor, “Manawa Rodeo” proves that winning isn’t always about the buckle — it’s about heart, community, and hanging on when things don’t go quite as planned. But the big question remains: who will be crowned Rodeo Queen?

Volunteers Needed! Beernsten’s Chilly Chocolate 15K & Fudge Trudge 5k
For the past three years Curative Connections has had the opportunity to volunteer at the annual Beernsten’s Chilly Chocolate 15k & Fudge Trudge 5k. Curative receives $50 for every volunteer we provide. This has become a wonderful fundraiser for us and great way to bring awareness to our community. This year all volunteers will receive a Curative winter hat to represent and stay warm!
There are several volunteer opportunities throughout the morning of Saturday, February 7 and more than 20 volunteers are still needed. This is a great opportunity for students to obtain service hours and to support the community. Below are the volunteer opportunities and times.
